Hello! I’m Alice, a London-based food writer, editor and recipe developer.

I grew up in Lancashire surrounded by sweet treats and pies, thanks to my family bakery in Preston which ran for three generations. After training as a pastry chef, I honed my skills in professional kitchens before spending the last decade developing recipes for print magazines and digital platforms, initially in-house at Jamie Magazine and most recently as Senior Cookery Writer at Good Housekeeping. 

I have extensive experience in all areas of food content production including initial concept and feature planning, recipe development, testing, editing, food styling and proofreading.  

I’m a member of the Guild of Food Writers, and have sat on the judging panel for the recipe writing category at the annual awards. 

My favourite thing to bake is bread, I could happily eat pasta every night of the week and my pudding of choice will always be a chocolate fondant.
